all though we never get to see her barebottom,this is one of the best spanking scenes ever!i think that fact a white girl is being punished by a wheelchair bound blackwoman gives it that extra 'frisson'-it wouldn't work i think if both women were white,or the girl being punished was black, and it wouldn't work if it was a blackman in the wheelchair punishing the girl,as we would not have his 'sympathy' as much,i imagine the scene has more of an 'impact' -if you excuse the pun!to mainly American audiences-with its complex racial politics,such a scene would certainly never be shown in a British-made show!
